What is Dances with Blood?
What is Dances with Blood?
A high-intensity filmmaking competition presented by Indie Horror Junkie, designed to spotlight emerging talent in the horror genre. Filmmakers, actors, and creators form teams and, during a live kickoff event, are assigned a specific horror subgenre, a required prop, and a line of dialogue, all of which must be incorporated into their film.
From that moment, the doomsday clock starts ticking. Each team has just two weeks to write, shoot, and deliver a completed short horror film. Once submitted, qualifying films move on to judging, audience engagement, and potential industry exposure.

On January 16, 2027, the Kickoff Event will take place. Participating teams will be announced, along with their randomly assigned Sub-Genre, Prop, and Line of Dialogue required for their film.
